Fever

A fever is a higher than normal body temperature. A normal body temperature range is 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C) although most healthcare professionals accept 98.6°F(37°C) as an average normal body temperature. Your body temperature increases and you experience a fever when your body experiences any of the following:

  • Infections
  • Side effects of other medicines

A fever is not a disease, it is a symptom of a disease your body encounters.
